6/16 Metronome

6/16 time signature

Use this free 6/16 metronome to practice six sixteenth-note pulses as 3 + 3 or as a straight sequence. Adjust the BPM to your practice tempo.

How to use the 6/16 metronome

Practice six sixteenth-note pulses, grouped as two sets of three or as one straight sequence. The optional accents make the selected feel easier to hear.

Counting 6/16

For 3 + 3, count 1-2-3, 4-5-6. Select Straight to remove the secondary group accent and emphasize only the start of each measure.

How to count this time signature

At the default 120 BPM, each written unit gets one click every 0.5 seconds. The grouping marks larger pulses without removing the smaller clicks.

In written music, groups of three are often felt as larger dotted beats. Here the BPM number still times each smaller click; the accents show the larger groups.
