Using the tuners
The tuners estimate pitch from your microphone using an A4 = 440 Hz reference. Background noise, other sounding strings and the selected target note can affect the reading. Confirm the tuning and octave intended for your instrument before adjusting a string; a detected note alone does not tell you whether the string tension is appropriate.
