How to use this online chromatic tuner
Use your microphone to identify any clear note, read its frequency, and measure how far it is from the nearest or a manually selected target pitch.
Start the microphone
Press Start tuning and allow microphone access in your browser. Play one note at a time and keep the sound source close enough to the microphone for a stable reading.
Use free tuning mode
With no target note selected, the tuner automatically finds the nearest chromatic note. Current Note and Current Frequency update in real time while the target fields remain inactive.
Set a target note
Select Target Note, then choose a note letter, accidental, and octave. The tuner calculates its frequency using A4 = 440 Hz and compares every detected pitch with that fixed target. Clear the target to return to free tuning.
Read the cents meter
The circle moves left when the current pitch is below the reference and right when it is above. Adjust the pitch until the circle reaches the center and turns green; a red circle means the difference is still outside the in-tune range.
