7/4 Metronome

7/4 time signature

Practice seven quarter-note beats in 7/4 with common 3 + 2 + 2, 2 + 2 + 3, or 2 + 3 + 2 groupings on this free metronome.

How to use the 7/4 metronome

Set the tempo, then choose a familiar seven-beat grouping. Each option divides the bar into smaller groups so the uneven pulse is easier to feel.

Counting 7/4

Try 3 + 2 + 2, 2 + 2 + 3, or 2 + 3 + 2. With Accent First Beat enabled, the first beat is strongest and later group starts are secondary accents.

How to count this time signature

At the default 120 BPM, each written unit gets one click every 0.5 seconds. The grouping marks larger pulses without removing the smaller clicks.
